You may have heard by now that I was hired as Lipan ISD interim superintendent.
I am excited about the opportunity to serve your community and to work with the board and staff as Lipan searches for their next superintendent. I have spent most of my adult life in education in some capacity. I was a math teacher for 12 years, a campus principal for 6 years, a superintendent for 11 years and this is my third interim superintendent appointment since my retirement in 2019.
I was raised in Poolville where I grew up in a farming and ranching family. I understand hard work, sacrifice, and small-town values. I can’t imagine a better way to grow up than in the life my mom and dad provided for me. They are my heroes. I strive every day to uphold the values they instilled in me beginning as a small child and strive to be to my children and grandchildren what my parents were to me.
My wife, Dana, and I were high school sweethearts. We will be celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary in October. We have been blessed with two wonderful children and 5 wonderful grandchildren.
I look forward to getting to know everyone helping in any way I can to make this the best school year possible. With optimism, commitment, reflection, and mutual respect, we can all work together to achieve great things.
